This presentation will serve to share both current, evidence-based practice as well as real-life experiences gained through the assessment and management of several patients presenting with progressive and degenerative neurological disorders, across the continuum of their disease journey. We will delve into the changing role of the speech therapist, and how to shift mindsets from “curative to palliative” whilst upholding the guiding principles of quality of life and patient centered care.
